My 20 year old E46 BMW broke down about a mile away from home as I was driving through Tring at about 8:30am. I had a quick look for nearby garages as the car was still drivable, albeit overheating. Managed to limp the car to The Old Dairy and explained briefly what happened… Small thump under the engine whilst driving, battery warning light came on immediately, lost power steering and then the temperature gauge started creeping up.
