The Leaning Pear is owned and operated by Rachel and Matthew Buchanan, both native Texans and graduates of Texas A&M University. Upon graduation, the couple relocated to Perugia, Italy, to explore the tastes and techniques of Italian cuisine while teaching English for a year. They returned to the U.S. for Matthew to pursue a degree in Culinary Arts at the renowned Culinary Institute of America in Hyde Park, NY. We had a great experience at The Leaning Pear — beautiful restaurant, excellent service, and my husband and I both really enjoyed our food! Fresh ingredients and delicious!! Would definitely recommend and eat here again!
Food was disappointing. Who puts GMO corn in a crab cake? Service wasn’t great and disappointing and atmosphere . The only positive was the tea!

Recently my husband & I decided to try this venue and we are soooooooo glad we did! We can't wait to go back however, probably when the weather is cooler. To avoid a long wait, we decided to sit outside and even though it wasn't terrible, I think I would have enjoyed my meal better inside. Awesome eats , price is fair with quality
Lunch was tasty & all the windows looked over a cool setting down towards the river. Sit indoors or out, the service was good.
We love this place! from the decor to the food. They offer hearty meals and healthy meals, all with a fresh twist. The large windows, back patio overlooking scenic Wimberley and the penny tornado bring it all together.
Food and service were fabulous!
