The Leaning Pear is owned and operated by Rachel and Matthew Buchanan, both native Texans and graduates of Texas A&M University. Upon graduation, the couple relocated to Perugia, Italy, to explore the tastes and techniques of Italian cuisine while teaching English for a year. They returned to the U.S. for Matthew to pursue a degree in Culinary Arts at the renowned Culinary Institute of America in Hyde Park, NY. Ate there tonight, food was cold, burned, flavorless....no soda just some terribly sour watery lemon lime concoction that was equally horrible. Grandsons meal fold chicken and pasty cold mashed potatoes. just an awful mean......horrid....

What a great surprise this place was. Tucked away in cozy Wild West Wimberley, is this modern farm to table restaurant. Their food is locally sourced and simply made. We had a wood fire pizza, a sandwich and soup. Everything was perfectly cooked and flavorful.
Delicious lunch. Creative options. Great children’s menu. Absolutely worth the drive.
