The Leaning Pear is owned and operated by Rachel and Matthew Buchanan, both native Texans and graduates of Texas A&M University. Upon graduation, the couple relocated to Perugia, Italy, to explore the tastes and techniques of Italian cuisine while teaching English for a year. They returned to the U.S. for Matthew to pursue a degree in Culinary Arts at the renowned Culinary Institute of America in Hyde Park, NY. Amazing food and great atmosphere. Can't wait to go back.
Just needed to share a very mixed review! We LOVE THE PEAR! The food is always amazing and the patio view is wonderful!!! But last time we DID NOT have a very good experience though! We made reservations (first on the list) for a large party for Mothers Day! We had adults and children! We requested first available! We show up a little early on a rainy day to find that they set us up on the patio in the rain. Totally prepared for us... But willing to sit is in the rain! This place is phenomenal! Try the crab cake - the chicken and grits and the hanger steak! It was so yummy! The wine list was very good with a nice selection to entertain all pallets. Highly recommend! We will be back!
This was our first time trying The Leaning Pear, it was wonderful. The food is amazing and the service is great! Corey, our server was friendly and helpful with suggestions on what to try. We started with the queso Fundido which is heavenly!!! Our entrees where amazing and dessert (mason jar cheesecake) was the perfect way to end our date. I would highly recommend trying them out!
My husband and I had a wonderful experience here. Our waiter was fantastic. The food was delicious and beautifully presented. The crab cake appetizer was simply wonderful. And the meatloaf --- so good! Wonderful atmosphere and beautiful scenery. The best food and service I've had in a really long time. We will return.

Food was Amazing! Atmosphere was very pleasant, and really felt like being at home in mom's kitchen. Hanger Steak dish was phenomenal!
Great food , good views ,and wonderful friendly staff plus awesome cakes from sugar shacks and beer from Middleton are served on menu what more could you ask for?
We really like going there and so do my grown kids. We live about 45 minutes away, so we go fairly often. Nothing on the menu is bad and the service is great. If you have to wait to get seated---it is worth it! Great atmosphere!
