The Leaning Pear is owned and operated by Rachel and Matthew Buchanan, both native Texans and graduates of Texas A&M University. Upon graduation, the couple relocated to Perugia, Italy, to explore the tastes and techniques of Italian cuisine while teaching English for a year. They returned to the U.S. for Matthew to pursue a degree in Culinary Arts at the renowned Culinary Institute of America in Hyde Park, NY. LOVE LOVE ! I HAVE BEEN GOING TO THE LEANING PEAR SINCE THEY WERE IN THE SMALL BUILDING NOW CALLED THE SUGAR SHACK. THE FOOD IS AMAZING , SERVICE IS TOO !
We shared the crab cake appetizer which was amazing. Sandy had the hanger steak which she said was awesome and I had the meatloaf which was also amazing. We will definitely go back again. The service was also outstanding.

I had Chicken and Waffles. It was delicious. Staff was friendly and nice tucked away atmosphere.
This place was suggested by an employee in town. We are extremely happy we took her advice. The majority of the group had the BBLT (bacon, brie, lettuce, tomato) sandwich. It was the best sandwich I've ever had. Everyone was very pleased. Good service, nice atmosphere. Highly recommend.

I went with my husband and mother in law, they took more than an hour, was hot supposed they giv us the best available (OUT SIDE) SO TO EAT INSIDE PROBABLY ANOTHER 49 MIN? WELL WE LEFT, WE HAVE A WINE AND WAS INCREDIBLE I LOVE THE WINE AND I HOPE CAN GO BACK TO TASTE DE FOOD (INSIDE) BECAUSE I DO WANT TO BELIEVE THEIR DIDN'T DISCRIMINATING FOR BEEN HISPANIC! I SAW PEOPLE DIDNT SEE IN THE PATIO GETTING FIRST, COULD BE WRONG, I AM A CRISTIAN PERSON, REALLY HOPE I AM WRONG!
The BBLT was delicious + w/a Great Spainish Red. but to the cook> the bread was too toasty, it tore the roof of my mouth up! Great ambiance.
Thank you very much for hosting a wonderful baby shower yesterday. Your place is 5 star quality!!! The food is always amazing and the atmosphere has always been inviting and enjoyable.❤️❤️❤️I would eat here everyday if I could!
