The Leaning Pear is owned and operated by Rachel and Matthew Buchanan, both native Texans and graduates of Texas A&M University. Upon graduation, the couple relocated to Perugia, Italy, to explore the tastes and techniques of Italian cuisine while teaching English for a year. They returned to the U.S. for Matthew to pursue a degree in Culinary Arts at the renowned Culinary Institute of America in Hyde Park, NY. Food and atmosphere are wonderful. Parking is a little scarce but it's Wimberley and to be expected
The food was really tasty. Customer service was really good and all the food was brought out together. Very pleasant ambience, we sat outside.
Excellent place. Great food. However, considering the amount of business and the lack of other restaurants in the area it is absurd that they close at 3 on Sundays and close completely on Mondays.

Delicious, unique food in a lovely setting with a friendly, helpful staff.
I have been here half a dozen times in the last year or so. I make an attempt to try new items from the menu. Everything I have had has been really great.... crab cake, mac and cheese, sandwiches, chicken and waffles, pizzas. Even the iced tea is really good. Service has always been on point too... attentive w/o being overbearing. The food and service are high caliber without the restaurant being "stuffy" or too formal. Delicious food. Great environment. Awesome prices. $3 glasses of Rosé! Sat inside but on a pretty day you would find me on their sprawling deck/patio! A must if you are in Wimberly!

We loved it! The view is nice, the restaurant has a great vibe and the food was delicious.
