The Leaning Pear is owned and operated by Rachel and Matthew Buchanan, both native Texans and graduates of Texas A&M University. Upon graduation, the couple relocated to Perugia, Italy, to explore the tastes and techniques of Italian cuisine while teaching English for a year. They returned to the U.S. for Matthew to pursue a degree in Culinary Arts at the renowned Culinary Institute of America in Hyde Park, NY. Had an excellent BLT with avocado. Service was great and I like the ambiance of this place. Would definitely recommend it.

Fresh, delicious artisan menu. The corn beef Ruben was delicious. Topped off with the homemade Carmel/Sea Salt gelato was what was needed for an afternoon of shopping with my wife!

We usually try to eat here any time we are in Wimberley. Love the Leaning Pear salad and th Chicken and grits. Their pizzas are also good. Just wish they served alcohol.
I was really looking forward to eating at the restaurant because of reviews (good and not so good) and their unique menu. My husband's Pablano pimento cheese sandwich was okay. The rye was fresh and he loved the bread. He did not like the taste. Tasted like Dill and not at all spicy like pablano. I ordered chicken and grits. On the menu it was described as roasted chicken BREAST and green chili bacon grits. I never tasted green chili's nor saw them in the grits.
