The Leaning Pear is owned and operated by Rachel and Matthew Buchanan, both native Texans and graduates of Texas A&M University. Upon graduation, the couple relocated to Perugia, Italy, to explore the tastes and techniques of Italian cuisine while teaching English for a year. They returned to the U.S. for Matthew to pursue a degree in Culinary Arts at the renowned Culinary Institute of America in Hyde Park, NY. This place was great!! Loved the friendly atmosphere and glad they are a pet friendly business as I had my Yorkie with me! They even provided her water in a dog bowl!! Food and music on the deck was wonderful and can’t wait to go back!!

Always enjoy this place because it's close by and a wonderful ambiance. Husband isn't into the eclectic type menu and was really disappointed that they took the pork chop off the menu. Not sure how often we will go now seeing there isn't anything else he'd really enjoy. He tried their version of a steak option, but he wasn't too happy with it. I tried a piece and there really wasn't much flavor. I prefer the grits and usually get those, but opted for the meatloaf this time. It was tasty, but will go back to having the grits ... read more

Delightful atmosphere and menu. The only thing I found disappointing was the staff ... they all had on worn out tshirt, too skinny jeans, some with holes and short shorts. Basically a handful of dirty college students serving upscale brunch . Just doesn't make sense to have a classy environment with grunge service staff .

Can’t come to Wimberley without eating here! The food and service is incredible! Also the shops next door are great! Good deals to be made here! ��
