The Jacobson

4.1

About this business

The Crossroads Arts District is filled with exceptional restaurants and The Jacobson is just another addition to this lively area. The bar/restaurant features American comfort food fused with some new twists, for example, the house burger is topped with a short-rib marmalade, bone marrow butter and crispy onion straws. Moreover, the spot is open for lunch and dinner and also has a wonderful bar that serves hand-crafted cocktails. Check website for complete menu and specials, like their 'Mingle Hour' which runs from 3-6pm and... read more

We have had really great experiences in the past. However we were in there Friday and they decided to do last call at just before 10 with a posted closing time of 11. When we asked them why they said “well no one has ordered food and we aren’t busy” as there was 15-20 of us sitting in the bar still ordering drinks. My group immediately tabbed our after our first drink and hearing the news. Another group of 8 people walked in they let them order their drinks prior to informing them they would be closing and had called last ca... read more

The good: our waitress Lynn was fantastic! Even though she was working both the patio and inside she made sure we had plenty of water and checked in on us. The patio is beautiful. Good space between all the tables, lots of large umbrellas to cover customers, and lots of plants to make it extra colorful. The drinks are STRONG! I consider that good because you know you're getting the true value. The bad: Parking sucks - plan to spend an additional 10-15 minutes looking to park. And then also expect to walk a few blocks from th... read more

The only good thing about this place was our waitress Lynette & the Bellini's!! The manager and cook were very rude. Because our food was over cooked and we wanted it remade we were put out and the manager stood there and allowed it!!! She even got upset when we wanted to tip the waitress before we left!!! I wouldn't recommend this place to anyone!!!

We finished a bottle of wine and sat with little-no-attendance until our food came. When we simply noted, to our waiter, that our food seemed to be taking a long time, he answered, “we only have four people in the kitchen and we were just sat 60 people.” There was no apology, or attempt to improve the experience. Again, the restaurant was half full and the tables with customers were in va... read more

They charge $14 for a charcuterie board that is literally 6 pieces of meat from Costco.

Worst service I've had anywhere in KC. Lived and dined in multiple countries around the world and am appalled at how we were treated here. Staff were rude and condescending. Food mediocre. Don't waste your time.
