From its not-so-humble beginnings as the home of Carl Hilmer Guenther in 1860, it has been restored into one of the more unique dining experiences in the city. The breakfast menu (served all day) offers Southern Sweet Cream Waffles and breakfast tacos, among other items. At lunch, choose from such entries as Champagne Chicken Enchiladas and Pioneer Taco Salad.

Excellent breakfast
Great management
Guenther House is not only an excellent place for breakfast or lunch or brunch, but a wonderful place to soak up some rich history. It is a regular stop for us every time we come to San Antonio. The food always exceeds our expectation, the service is friendly, and the grounds, and the beautiful Castle make the dining experience all that more special. We love this place!! Won't leave San Antonio until we eat here.
There is no elevator for people who can't do stairs. My Mom was not able to attend her God daughter's Bridal shower because of this. Otherwise the food was good and the service was exceptional. The Groom volunteered to drive my Mom home, she was also his 5th grade teacher.... :-)
