Favorite place!!!....this place has the best food , service and ambiance . First time we came here we ended up coming back for dinner too. Favorites are the Filet, Chicken Piccata, the burger ( sounds simple but it's amazing the bun melts in your mouth and the burger is mixed with something ... oh so good) and the Spinach strawberry salad another favorite . Ask for Evan or Monica

Great, upscale atmosphere. Great happy hour and the small plates menu is extensive. Margaritas are very good and strong. The strawberry mojito is beautiful and very good. Crab cakes with flash fried spinach is off the charts. They are crispy outside and creamy inside with just a hint of citrus. The shrimp gratin was also outstanding. Don't miss the opportunity to enjoy this wonderful place. Side note...our waiter Evan made it particularly great.
Food was very good! Service was a little slow but we were in no hurry.
My birthday was our first time at the Gruene Door and we were very impressed! I am gluten free and so it limits my options. Also I have to worry about the servers and their menu knowledge. Our server also knew that soy sauce also had Gluten and and not just if something had flour in it or not. My meal was perfect!! The prices were good! The drinks were yummy! All in all a great experience!

Got charged for a birthday dessert that was not ordered! Not happy about that at all!

Kathy - we sincerely apologize for the mistake. Your server just plain forgot to comp the birthday dessert after putting in the order. He should have asked if you even wanted it first. We like to surprise our guests who are celebrating birthdays with a free creme brulee, but we will re-evaluate how we do this in the future. Either way, no one should have been charged. Please come in for a refund or a complimentary dessert.
TGD accommodated our special request of their Shrimp Gratin in a large order. We provided our own glass casserole dish and they provided the deliciousness! Our party LOVED it! Thank you! We will do that again. It was yummy! TGD never disappoints!
