As a replica of Bent's Fort, it's a cultural crossroads on the historic Santa Fe Trail. This area institution, which has been reviewed in the New York Times, serves up southwestern fare to everyone from lounging locals to heads of state including President Clinton during 1997's economic summit. Scrumptious servings of buffalo and elk tantalize the tongue. More traditional fare like salmon, filet mignon and even a vegetarian plate is also available. Open Monday to Friday at 5:30pm and at 5:00pm on Saturdays and Sundays.

We had out wedding reception there. Amazing! They even dealt with me being kind of demanding (but in a nice way I though/hoped).

The food and the service was outstanding and the atmosphere was just great. Wehave already recommended it to some fellow travelers we met on a train ride! Next time we ate in Colorado, we will be back!

Atmosphere is captivating, service was excellent and our food was delicious! Buffalo ribs were tender & I loved the dinner salad too; others had the tenderloins which were cooked perfectly too. Great experience- we'll go again!

We had family visiting from out state. My Brother and Sister in law. It was her first time. Great Atmosphere. And Decore. We all enjoyed our meals. I would highly recommend The Fort to anyone celebrating a very special occasion.
Great place and excellent food. The Buffalo (Bison) steaks are so light and flavorful! Service was outstanding. Only gave four stars because we weren't crazy about the wandering flute player, and the wandering western history guy, randomly stopping at tables. And there were some obnixious loud people who don't understand the basic etiquette of dining out with others you don't know present in the same restaurant. But, overall, this is a great place for an outstanding meal. We will definitely return!
