Located downtown near the University of Alabama-Birmingham and its medical center, the Fish Market is the cheapest and possibly the best seafood restaurant in Birmingham. The owners are from Greece, so the self-service dining area is decorated with Greek photos and artwork. There is a small grocery area and of course, a fish market. The food is fresh, and the portions large. Be prepared for a crowd at any given time; this place is an unbeatable value and that's a well-known fact.

The service and food was wonderful!! We sat at the bar and had a great time. Oysters were so good!

Myself and my party (4) waited 20 minutes before even being acknowledged. Then the server, April, walked away in the middle of taking our order to go take another tables order and deliver food, from which she never returned to our table. I've never had such an awful experience. Will not be returning and will not ever recommend this restaurant.
I never leave reviews on Facebook, but my service and meal were so exceptional at lunch today that I felt very compelled to bring it to the awareness of management. Our waiter was everything you could ask for in food service. He was very personable, knowledgeable about the menu, gave excellent recommendations, and great at pre-bussing & bringing fresh drinks.
