Located downtown near the University of Alabama-Birmingham and its medical center, the Fish Market is the cheapest and possibly the best seafood restaurant in Birmingham. The owners are from Greece, so the self-service dining area is decorated with Greek photos and artwork. There is a small grocery area and of course, a fish market. The food is fresh, and the portions large. Be prepared for a crowd at any given time; this place is an unbeatable value and that's a well-known fact.

I ordered smoked salmon pread and grilled fish tacos. It was too salty for me. Smoked salmon had olives and capers in it. I hate both off those. I wish it stated that it had at least one of those listed as an ingredient in the spread because i wouldn't have ordered to begin with. I did in fact taste it just to say i tried it. The feta cheese for my fish taco made the whole meal salty. Even my mom said it was salty and she likes feta. Everyone else enjoyed their food though. Service was great though. They’re food are amazing & huge portions! It’s part our tradition that every time we come here in Bham, we have to dine at this restaurant!
Bam Bam shrimp is awesome. Wonderful atmosphere and very friendly
Raw oysters-cant screw them up. However, the crawfish etouffee was poor. Rice was undercooked. Waitress couldnt even recommend this dish. The rest of my part said their dishs were good. I just ordered the wrong thing.
It's way to expensive.
