Our father was resident at this care home for only 3weeks and the standard of care was poor. The management appeared unfocused on improving care standards and the training and support of the staff team. As a family we reported our concerns to the local council and the CQC two years ago and this care home was inspected and remains rated as requiring improvement. Welcoming home with wonderful staff. My Aunty had 7 happy years living at the Firs & I would highly recommend. Lovely food, lots of activities. Comfortable & friendly
It was an amazing home back in 2016-2017 but when they recently got new staff they are kind rude and too strict with the elderly there my great granddad has dementia and one of the staff shouted at him when my nan was on the phone. Kinda disappointed as the previous staff were so kind and funny and they made my grandad look in his 80s not his 90s by the way he is 94
My mother was a resident at The Firs for nearly three years before she passed away and she was treated wonderfully by all the staff. Mom was treated as though she was family, nothing was ever to much trouble for these wonderful people. Do not hesitate if you are looking for a CARE home for your loved ones they will be in safe hands.
