I have recently started delivering exercise therapy sessions at The Firs and it really is one of my favourite homes to deliver sessions in. The staff are very friendly and welcoming and the residents are always in positive spirit. The care home management are also very accommodating and it was pleasing to see how much they really wanted to extend extra services for their residents.

A fantastic care home with kind, attentive staff and a warm, welcoming atmosphere. The facilities are clean and well-maintained, and communication with families is excellent. Couldn’t ask for better care.
My late mum was a resident with The Firs for approx, 8 months. Mum was very happy and settled at The Firs and during this time, mum was always treated with dignity and respect by all members of staff. The premises are well kempt, clean and clear from and obstructions. The food is always freshly prepared and is made from love and care. Our father was resident at this care home for only 3weeks and the standard of care was poor. The management appeared unfocused on improving care standards and the training and support of the staff team. As a family we reported our concerns to the local council and the CQC two years ago and this care home was inspected and remains rated as requiring improvement.
