My Mother has spent Respite care here at The Firs. Excellent Residential home, caring staff, good food, rooms are very homely. All care needs attended to, all needs met. My mother very well cared for , with her respite going into fulltime as she has settled well. Huge thank you to Manager Pip and his lovely team.

My experience of this home, a place no one wishes to end up in but sometimes there is no choice, is a happy place. My mum & mother in law are both residents with different needs. Both are looked after very well with little gestures like trying fresh flowers (in season) brought in from a carers home. Hairband bought to keep annoying fringe out of her eyes. Staffing levels always seem to be a problem but those who carry the strain, do so with a smile. I would definitely recommend.

Very nice room and en suite,dont feel he was showered and hair ever washed.He was dressed in other people's clothes despite me personally labelling all his clothes. Not enough activities going on spent a lot of his time in his room Lost nearly 10 kg in less than 2 weeks no help was spotted that he needed help sometimes with eating Would not recommend this home my husband only went in for 2 weeks respite but we brouht him home early because of his condition.

My Dad was at this home before he died. If I had my way it would be closed and yet even though I have put in an official complaint about the care he received it still continues to run. I can only hope that some improvements and changes have been made and that it is better now. My Dad was unrecognisable when I went to visit him and had not been washed or had his hair done. He was dirty and didn't even have access to a drink. Not fit for a dog even!!!!!
