Instead of charging a ridiculous admission, all you had to do was ask for a modest donation of $1 or $2. I have purchased a membership for several years now because I thought it was only fair. As it stands now, I don’t think I will ever be back. Making reservations to walk outside is totally ridiculous.
I don't like to schedule going on an outdoor outing. I like to just go when the mood hits. so sad!
What is the point of buying a membership when I have to schedule an appt to walk outside?? I'm furious because the last 2 days the same amount of cars were there and I didnt have to schedule an appt? Dont bother going to Dawes, next thing ya know I will have to schedule an appt to walk outside of my own house...
I've been going here and enjoying this my whole life, until they decided to get greedy and charge a massive ticket price. This is NOT WORTH THE FEE and I will not be back again, potentially for the remainder of my life, or while these steep prices remain. I'm sure others feel the same as well, as this is a total betrayal to the community. There are plenty of alternatives, so don't waste your time or money.
We used to really enjoy Dawes. Now that they are charging g $10. a person we will not be visiting again.
Most definitely not recommend. Our family showed up after a birthday party to walk off the cake and it was going to cost over $100. We were in total shock as you can imagine and left. They want $10 per person. On top of the ridiculous cost it's nowhere near the caliber of Holden Arboretum which I gladly pay and drive too from time to time. Since we have not been going to Dawes anymore we have found some other great parks and nature preserves that cost zero.
RecommendedWhat a great fall venture. Beautiful tapestry of colors to see. With the weather cooperating, makes for incredible hikes. Wife and I immediately got memberships to enjoy all year long. Highly recommend!
RecommendedBeautiful place to walk with my dogs, peaceful. Sure they charge but a yearly membership is a deal!
I would definitely have recommended before they started charging a ridiculous charge of 10$ per adult and 5$ per child. Even a walk in the park has become too expensive for some. Why not charge $10 per car....or better yet $5. Sad! We wont be back.
