@Pa T The utility side of Davey gets a *** rap. They are hired by the utility to clear only the powerlines they will remove and chip debris from normal line clearance maintenance. However, when trees fail and fall onto the utilities or there is storm damage, or a failed tree is not affecting the powerlines it's the homeowner's responsibility to take care of the cleanup of their tree
Horrible job! I took pictures of how they left my property after trimming my tree as a contractor for DTE. Trimmings up and down my street, driveway full of trimmings and they left tree logs in my ditch! They did no clean up at all. I filed a complaint with DTE and called their main office.
We have been clients of Davey Treefor many years. We have been extremely satisfied with the services we have received.Most recently, we had 5 trees in our yard pruned. The crew did an excellent job and were very thorough. They even noticed a potential problem with one of our maples. They cleaned everything up and hauled all the debris. This company will rip you off. Signed an **** contract for a treatment plan. Only for them to claim that the cost was PER TREATMENT... Meaning to have our trees treated would have been upwards of ****. Mind you, we had 4 moderately-sized crape myrtles and a handful of saplings.There are far more transparent companies with much better customer *************************** your money and go elsewhere.

The guys showed up in force around 8am - sat for about half-hour then worked until 10am. Sat til just after mid-day then worked for half-hour. As I write this they have turned their truck around and are sitting again...Perhaps they got fed up with the view?
This company completely ruined my sod lawn in ********* **. They were hired by me to take down a tree on my front lawn. They brought a bucket truck and did not use it. Instead they dropped the tree on the lawn and dragged it across my sod lawn. They are refusing to replace the lawn and are not honoring the contract that i have with them regarding leveling the lawn. Will be filing as law suit. Worse company ever, horrible customer **********************.
We had worked with Davey years ago and were very happy. We hired the Englewood site to prune two ****** in April. *********************** was our contact. We were very unhappy with the job that was done. The crew came out a second time and the front tree was much better but the back Maple was now dead from the top down about 15 feet. Davey was more than happy to return for an additional $ 500 to cut back part of the tree but was very clear that there was no guarantee on how much dead could be removed.
