We’ve had the best care from the oncology team at Texas Children’s Hospital. Grateful we were able to bring our teenage son here for diagnosis and treatment.
My son is a cardiology patient with TCH and we’ve had great experiences coming here, but yesterday was terrible. I took my 2 yr old yesterday 3/6/18 because I suspected he had a UTI, When we got to the bed and we’re being questioned in the emergency center the nurse was talking down on me and asked me why is this an emergency? Ummm because the doctors office doesn’t do a cath to test urine, even Dr. Weingarten had said that. His test came back negative for it and they said he had a stomach virus because his gut sounded bubbl... read more
This is the second time I have put my daughters life on the line and allowed her to be admitted under these conditions. The hospital is already a dangerous place for kids with Cystic Fibrosis. They are automatically put in isolation due to cross infection from bacteria that can spread from one patient to the next. Most of the deadliest bacteria can live for weeks or even months on hard surfaces. Since CF kids have thick mucus they are also susceptible to mold and it can grow in their lungs as well. Bacterial growth is the nu... read more
This hospital makes me and my children feel safe, welcome and comfortable. They are the best and only one I will take them to.
A few years back I found this great hospital online , a few hundred miles from where we live and we chose them to do a small surgical procedure done for one our children. They did an amazing job and my son was well taken cared of. Great customer service, very nice medical staff. Thank you Texas Children’s Hospital!
Took my daughter in for stomach and chest pain and we completely got dismissed with if it’s not screaming jumping off the bed pain she can just go see her health care provider. And here’s some acid reflux medicine and she might have Kawasaki disease! So awful to tell the doctor he was mistaken n that I was not going to give her medicine for a illness I knew she didn’t have! Thanks doctor Ho from Er for sending us to memorial Herman where they got it right super fast and took good care of us!
My daughter had a procedure here and we were told after our insurance that we would owe a certain amount. After paying that amount, a month later we received a bill for almost the same amount. What they failed to tell us was that the amount we already paid did not include the equipment or doctors fee. This was something they certainly should have informed us of when we made the first payment. They were unwilling to work with us except to give us a very minimal discount on our balance. Had I known that we would have to pay so... read more
In June 2017 I had to take my son here because he was having trouble breathing and gasping for air, and projectile vomiting everything he ate. He was only 2 months old at the time, and as a new mom I was scared to death. They got me right in to see Dr Chelius and it turned out he had a condition called Laryngomalacia, which meant his larynx was deformed and closing up every time he took a breath. It was unfortunately very severe and required surgery. Dr Chelius got him in right away to do the surgery, and came out and inform... read more
We recently had to make 2 trips to the hospital due to a high fever our daughter was having. First was to Memorial Hermann ER in Pearland, and it was dreadful. On the other hand our trip to TCH TMC ER/Urgent Care was a good experience. The staff was very professional and prompt as they could be. The waiting room was nice and set up for the wait. They did what they could to keep you comfortable and kept the patients rotating at a consistent rate. Employees in the hospital were courteously general. Unless it’s an absolute emer... read more
