Amazingly vegetarian friendly My steak-eating friends loved this place - the beef was apparently top-notch (they actually allow you to select your cut of beef if you are so inclined) and the side dishes were delicious according to them. You can order a very small cut (6 oz) if you don't have a huge appetite.
I Will Never Go Back Yes, the food is great, the decor is very pleasing. However, DO NOT complain or face being thrown out. My husband and I were longtime patrons for years and then our last visit was shocking. My husbands salad dressing was spoiled and we told the assistant manager. He only had a salad and appetizer for dinner and simply expected to get the price refunded for the salad, no more since it was inedible. She refused and was rude about it. He asked for the manager. Taste of Texas is Phenomenal. Taste of Texas is one of our favorite eating establishments in Houston PERIOD! We love the salad bar and the food is always perfect. The staff is amazing. The prices are steep, but we go prepared. We love to give TOT gift cards during the holidays too.
Taste of Texas If you are looking for atmosphere and an excellent steak, Taste of Texas is the place. The decorum is Texas flavor with a flair. This place is a wonderland at Christmas. I absolutely love it!
Awesome!!! This is one of the best steak houses in town serving Angus beef. The salad bar is second to none. The atmosphere is more family style than stuffy steak house.
Good but expensive This place always have great food and service. They know how to treat their customers the right way. I am a bit frustrated at the increase in the prices as I'm sure most customers are. I think I'll lay off steak for a while until the prices come back down. A great place for having a good time.
Best steak in the country! – I have been a patron of The Taste of Texas for about 15 years. In all of my many visits(from Beaumont.......worth the drive over!!!), I have never been disappointed! You will not find a better steak. The salad bar is always so fresh and the breads are delicious. Expect a wait on weekends but it is well worth it.
One of the Best SteakS!!! – Loved this restaurant, the food is delicious. We went there for valentines day last year and it was great. The service is so impressive. I definitely recommend this place. Prices a little high but worth it
Mailing List Regrets I went to this restaurant one time and one time only back in 2004. I accidentally somehow signed up for a newsletter, that I get a few times a year. I've called and e-mailed and everything else but they just won't remove me from their mailing list.
