LONG WAITS – Although the steaks are fairly decent... the wait will drive a sane person to the brink.... If you have kids this is the place to go, if they don't mind waiting.. When paying those prices you certainly don't want to have to help yourself at the salad bar... I will always pick one of the other steakhouses in town, especially considering they take RESERVATIONS!!!!
Was once a favorite – As is all too often the case, high standards are almost impossible to maintain. The service was once impeccable because every employee was hired based not only on their abilities but their own drive to succeed. My last three dining experiences were so poor it left me no other choice but to find another steak place. Once the best, now too much like all of the rest.
What a Disappointment – What a disappointment and waste of time. I've heard so much about Taste of Texas--it's rated as one of the best steakhouses in Texas--so I was excited about going there and having a great steak. I could berate this restaurant for hours, but I'll just list my main criticisms. If I have to stand in line for a steak, I'll not eat one. THis place, although the steaks are good, is more like an up-scale sizzler or Bonanza or Ryans. I like to have my salads prepared and delivered, rather than to be allowed to graze at the salad bar as many patrons do. Most of th steaks are USDA Choice Certifed Angus. Excellent Food and Service – The Food and selection is excellent. The waitstaff and management are very friendly, professional and attentive. This is a good place for 2 to 30 people. Some of the best tasting steaks anywhere.
Taste of Money – Tase of Texas is good, but highly overpriced. As good or better steaks in Houston area for much less money.
When I go out for a nice Steak I want to show up at the restaurant and be waited on, especially considering the cost of a fine Steak dinner. Overrated since the average wait for me has been 1 hr., 45 minutes, no reservations, loud in the dining areas, salad bar instead of a waiter bringing your meal. The food is good but would choose 5 other Steak Houses in Houston before this one!
bes resturant – Taste of Texas is One of many steakhouse i've been to and its the best, the hostesses made me feel welcome as if i was at home in Orlando. Food is excellent, people are friendly.
Not my taste – Taste of Texas is good food but for a steak I would recommend Lynns STeakhouse off of Dairy Ashford. It is excellent service, food, and the setting is quiet. Alot of companies around that area take large parties there for dinner and lunch.
