A Nice Evening – I don't often visit the 3rd St. area restaurants as they're often overcrowded, parking is a nightmare, a too-cool-for-school crowd and snobby restaurant staff. However, I was very impressed by my evening at Tasca. The staff was GREAT! The hostess smiled GENUINELY! What a rare event in LA. The bartenders, waiters, servers - ALL of them were competent, caring and engaging (without being overbearing). The food was well prepared, but I was a little underwhelmed. The patatas with sausage was bland, the langostine... read more

Great tapas & wine bar – Went here for the first time a week ago with a party of seven people. It was packed on a tuesday night. Our party sampled various wines from the wine by the glass list and then ordered a couple of bottles from Chile when we sat at our table. The food was great. Small plates that ranged from foie gras to a medley of grilled seafood, shortribs, pasta, cheese & olives and yummy salads. I'm a big fan of this format of small bites and wine and this place does it all well. Great service and an intimate coz... read more

They Got It Right – As someone who has been managing and working in restaurants for years, I can honestly say Tasca is the one restaurant I've been to in Los Angeles that I would most like for my own. From its cozy seating arrangement that doesn't feel overcrowded to its menu (better and more eclectic than the oft-praised A.O.C.), Tasca truly serves up the notion that dining is not just a place to eat but a place to go. You feel like you're someplace else - and in every good sense of that notion. Perhaps its strongest and mo... read more

this is a great wine bar! – Of all the wine bars I've been to this year, it's Tasca on West 3rd Street at Crescent Heights Boulevard that brings up memories of Paris. The wines aren't at all the main draw: After more than a year of delays, Tasca just got its wine license in February, so the wine list is still under construction. What draws me there is that elusive sense of place. Walk in the door and you feel welcomed. It seems like such a simple thing, but few restaurants get it right. I'm not talking about a phalanx of jun... read more

Dark and Cozy Wine Bar Tasca has a selection of rich phenomenal food and tasy wines. The restaurant is dark, romantic and cozy; it's not good for parties or kids. Instead, it's more of a special occasion or date place. Although its literally a block away from AOC, it's a world away on the inside; it is decidedly not a scene place. Don't let this fool you; the service, food and prices are all great! The only problem is parking. 3rd street between La Cienega and Fairfax is probably the only stretch of road in LA with more vale... read more

Wow - almost too good to be true! – I was reluctant to try this restaurant - the parking isn't great and no one ever seems to be in there - but after the Little Door botched our reservation, we headed down to give it a try. Lemmee tell ya, the dining gods must have been looking out for me cuz holy moly, this place is a FIND. It's byob, so we walked a few blocks down and brought back some wine, which they didn't charge us to cork. They refilled our glasses attentively and we were served by friendly, knowledgeable servers who ... read more

Tasty and Intimate Dining Experience!!!! – My boyfriend and I were researching BYOB restaurants in the area and we came across Tasca. The food and service was absolutely amazing! Our waiter steered us to a few of the daily specials, as well as some of his favorites on the menu. You cannot go wrong with the tapas portion of the BRAISED SHORT RIBS w/ BUTTERNUT SQUASH RAVIOLIS!!! It melts in your mouth! The TUNA TARTARE was also a pleasant surprise! Currently they do not have a liquor license. If you are bringing your own wine ... read more
