Go somewhere else – I live in the neighborhood and I have been wanting to try this restaurant for a while. I've been a little confused by the different reviews I have seen on citysearch. not enough wine – i wish they had a better selection of wine. isn't that what they're supposed to specialize in? if i'm going to a wine bar, i'd like to be able to order more than just the ordinary reds that you find at a grocery store
Escape to a hidden hideaway on 3rd st. – Since my recent trips to the Santa Barbara county for wine tastings I developed an urge to discover wine bars in my local area. Rude! – The service at Tasca is rude and arrogant! I was there the other night with a friend and we were either ignored or treated like garbage. I'll never go back.
i just spent 3 weeks in NYC and met a random lady who told me about Tasca in Los Angeles in which she said it reminded her of New York and that she was trilled to find a place to dine in LA with her friends and feel at home. After seeing there were some bad review I had to investigate. Bad ambience – My girlfriend and I went there the other night hoping for a romantic evening. We couldn't even hear each other speak. The ambience at Tasca is really terrible. I wouldn't recommend it for couples or anyone who wants to actually have a conversation. The food was pretty mediocre and expensive for what it was as well. Go somewhere else.
Overpriced – I don't know how this restaurant can justify charging what it charges. The food is really mediocre at best. Its no where near the same level as AOC, but the prices are right up there. Its just too expensive for what it is. I don't mind spending money on a nice meal if the meal is actually nice and the restaurant has the kind of ambience that creates an experience that makes it worth spending the money. Don't waste your money on Tasca. Go to a nicer restaurant if you want an expensive experience.
Disgusting – I ordered a bunch of small plates with a group of friends last night, and there was a long hair in my salad. It was so disgusting. I told the waiter about it and he just looked at me with a blank stare. There was no apology. I'm never going to Tasca again.
A terrible experience!!! – I just returned from dinner at Tasca... what a terrible experience! I had 9:00 reservations for a party of 5. We were not seated until 9:50. It was my friend's birthday and they didn't bring a dessert for her as promised. The owner is completely arrogant and unapologetic. They are disorganized and need to learn how to treat their patrons. I will never go to Tasca again and I would not recommend this restaurant to anyone at all.
