We reached out to Amerigas 4 weeks ago to refill our tank. We were told we'd get guaranteed delivery by 12/14. It is now 12/23 and we are completely out of gas. We have no heat or hot water. We have called the corporate office consistently for 5 days straight. Each day we are told we are on the delivery route the next day and then no one shows up and we are back on the phone pleading for service. My family (with young kids) has endured a cold home and no hot water for days and we will likely have to endure through Christmas.... read more

Terrible customer service and company. After waiting on hold for over 3 hours, I was hung up on and this happened three separate times. It was an emergency situation and they would not help resolve it. I had to pay $300 to get emergency delivery, after calling for a week straight with no response to the issue and it almost made my house sale not go through. I would not recommend them and will never use them again.

Yeah, what everyone else is saying. We have had an account and an Amerigas tank for 15 years. When we had the local office to deal with, it was fine. Like, not excellent, but totally fine. Good customer service. Never waited too long for deliveries. They communicated with us about our deliveries. Since they closed the local office it’s an absolute nightmare. We have finally gotten a delivery but the cut the line to our house and capped the hose because they needed to do a leak test and they needed us to be there for it. All ... read more

Worst. Company. Ever. Where I live, people are without propane -- so, no hot water, no heat -- in the dead of winter, at Christmas time. And it's all because Amerigas is so friggin' incompetent they can't manage to fill orders or respond to customer complaints. Mind you, this is not a small company. They are a division of UGI Corp, an $8 billion company with 7400 employees. I am convinced these problems are caused by cost-cutting decisions at the highest levels. Because we live in Vermont on a hill we must have our driveway sanded before each propane delivery. The sanding is solely for the purpose of the fuel truck coming up our driveway. We have no difficulty navigating the driveway unsanded. Despite requesting 24 hr notice of delivery so we can arrange for sanding, we consistently call a call during the evening prior to the next mornings delivery. We still arrange for sanding, at a cost of $100.00 each time. Invariably the fuel truck arrives early before the sand truck can arrive.... read more

Ordered propane refill on 12/2/20. I received an email confirmation stating delivery would be between 12/3-12/14. It's 12/22 and still no propane! I've called 4x, the first two reps stated they didn't see my request but that they would expedite the delivery and talk to the district manager. Evidently that does no good. The 3rd person was very polite and apologized, again stated it would be expedited and would talk to the district manager, IMO a new manager is needed!! 4 days later still no delivery. Can you give a company no stars... I have used this company for 14 years and during that time we really didn't have any issues other than they tried to hit us with a tank rental fee each year we had to fight. I thought I had a leak recently so I called them to check it out. I turned off the valve at the tank and waited. They came out quickly to check and then hit me with a $211 bill because they didn't find a leak. I tried to call the office to get this removed but you can't get in touch with anyone. I wish I could give zero stars. Amerigas is a complete rip off. My husband called them to have gas delivered and they locked our tanks twice claiming it's for safety. Well for starters we own the tanks and do not lease from them and second when they lock your tank they charge you up to 300 dollars to unlock them. It seems they find an excuse to lock your tank then strong arm you to pay to have it unlocked. My husband called them 3 times to have the lock taken off and no one came.
