As most people using propane are living in rural situations their dependence on propane is critical. Amerigas took over my local propane company who used to fill the tank at 20% capacity. The first year they denied us propane in the middle of winter as we used it for a "decorative fireplace" Untrue, we use it for heating the entire house, an old house in the country on a gravel road. Every winter since then I have to ring them and argue for a tank refill. We can go through 4-5 % at night when it is 11°F. If it snows the truc... read more

There is a reason AmeriGas has a 1 star rating. I would give them less if possible. We had been with our local company (Tenbrooks) for at least 50 years, but then AmeriGas bought them, and it has been downhill since. They have ZERO customer service ! You cannot talk to a real person! If you do get through to a person, it is at least a 45 minute wait. Their fees are outrageous as well ! We have local family-owned gas companies in our area, which we will be switching to. AmeriGas apparently doesn't care, as I have left several... read more

I have been an Amerigas customer for more than twenty years. We have had minor issues in the past but this year is beyond what is acceptable. We are on automatic deliveries with a monitor on our 500 gallon propane tank in the ground. The automatic delivery system prompted for a delivery on 1/23/2021. On 1/30/21 we checked the online system to see that we had 11% in the tank. We have called numerous times, talked to numerous people over the last six days and still do not have a propane delivery. We have been heating our house... read more

I’ve been out of propane for days and have not even gotten a call from the emergency line. They sent a driver who went to the wrong tank, said it was full and left, without asking why I said the tank was empty, they left and texted me. I wait for 30 minutes to talk to a service representative who can’t fix my problem and tell me someone will call back who never does. Even the website times out before they can pull up my account. I moved and had my account closed, made sure my tank was empty and had to call numerous times for them to pick the tank up. I received a letter dated 1/19/21 for collections! There was a $20 credit on my account before I closed it. They charged me a "pick up" fee! Since I moved my bill never came to me and now it's up for collections. Why am I being punished with a fee for moving and closing the account?! I called and was told by multiple reps to call different numbers and have yet to get a resolution! I highly suggest avoid... read more

I am an automatic propane delivery customer. The business web site shows that my propane level was low and a delivery was scheduled on January 6th. Today is February 3rd and we have entered the third day without heat, hot water and stove. The first day I was told that it was on its way. Yesterday I was told that it was to be delivered tomorrow and I had to pay extra if I wanted an emergency delivery. Upon my objection, they told me that I would get that delivery without the extra cost yesterday. No delivery. We are cold, fru... read more

I have been a customer in good standing with AmeriGas for 6 years. I made a multitude of calls and was promised an expedited delivery. I even emailed the main office in PA. No response and no delivery. My tanks are EMPTY!!!! They didn't care that I was totally out of propane - wow! Terrible. I have already switched to a different company and can't wait to they take away their tanks. Absolutely no regard for their customers.

We signed up for an automatic delivery service in November , but they have failed to automatically deliver fuel. The tank is nearly empty. it was difficult to contact the company (long wait times [about 45 minutes] and the website poorly functions [failure to connect to webpage errors]). A company representative tells us our account was not properly set up and that we are therefore on will-call. Will-call means that the customer must call to schedule deliveries and will be charged a much higher rate ($0.87 higher per cft hig... read more

This is probably the worst company I have ever dealt with. I spent 90 minutes on their customer service line. More than 2o minutes multiple times, with no answer. Every time I indicated I was interested in a new account they answered after the first ring. They don't care anout their customers.
