One of the other issues I had, and I don't ask questions often, is they failed to answer a simple question about basic midi implementation that required me to purchase a separate piece of gear that I would have gladly paid for if I knew it was required to get my setup to work. Do. Not. Buy. From. Sweetwater. Buy. Local. What a disorganized happy to take your money but fail at literally everything else kind of company. Everything from shipping and return issues, falsely described products that are nothing like their description, to snarky and uniformed customer service agents. Just buy local and support your local economy.
I have never had such a horrible experience with a business like Sweetwater. Months ago I tried to make some purchases with their installment plans, but my credit score was not good enough, and the orders were cancelled. I was purchasing a digital piano from Sweetwater online and spoke to the salesman several times on the phone. I finally decided on a Yamaha digital piano for $650 dollars and applied for a Sweetwater credit card which was approved and they offered $50 bucks to be applied towards my purchase. When the salesman put the credit in, he said he would call me back in a few minutes and when he did, he said the manager said I couldn’t use the $50 dollars towards this purchase but for a future purchase. My sales engineer Vaughn was super helpful! I made an order and had a difficult time with my Sweetwater card, after playing a little bit of phone tag with Sweetwater and Synchrony I was able to get the issue resolved quickly and efficiently! He also informed me that one of the products in my cart was backordered which I never noticed and that it wasn’t expected to ship for a couple months, and helped point me in the direction of products in stock with similar performance and price range. Crooks. Bait and switch sales tactics and dishonest financing make Sweetwater Sound a company to avoid at all costs. I was a loyal customer since 2016 who bought THOUSANDS of dollars worth of gear. Most of it defective in some way or another. They will lie to you and steal from you. Never believe a single thing they promise you and most of all spend your hard earned money somewhere else. They don't care about you in any way shape or form.
I love Sweetwater! They're extremely knowledgeable and helpful. Every time I deal with them, they're very personable and I never feel like I'm talking to a script reader. Any issues, questions or concerns are quickly addressed with no hassle. Thank you Sweetwater!
