Enjoy a little piece of Pan-Fried history when you dine at Stroud's! The year was 1933. Prohibition had just been repealed, we were between two World Wars and Stroud's Restaurant was built. Stroud's started as a BBQ restaurant by Guy and Helen Stroud on the county line at 85th and Troost. The road house remained a BBQ restaurant until World War II. RecommendedGreat service, good food!
Excellent food as always. Noticed our server never smiled. Only 3 ppl smiled. Mgr and 1 server and one busser. No one else. My tip reflected that as our server did her job but was happy about it. “Host” seemed confirmed and argued w staff in front of customers. Food was excellent as always Service was. OK.
Our server was excellent, first of all. The food was fresh and appetizing. I expected real mashed potatoes though and was disappointed with instant. But the gravy was good and the blue cheese dressing tasted deliciously homemade. The cinnamon rolls were fresh and tasted the way I like them. The interior is dated. It needs a facelift. There’s also an offputing odor in the entrance that should be dealt with. Overall an enjoyable dining experience if not an aesthetic one. I’ll go back.

The chicken was very good, the menu was very confusing. In Ohio Amish country restaurants that say family style serve big bowls of each meat and each veggie. Stroud's served platter of chicken with a small bowl of the veggies and a single salad. To me that's not "family" style
It was the worst chicken I've ever had..no seasoning. ...just super bland....and cinnamon rolls were not good...would. not ever recommend this place to my worst enemy!!!

We took my father here as he had been wanting to go for a long time. To say it was disappointing would be an understatement. The chicken we ordered was plain with no seasoning or flavor. I really don't know if this was normal or someone messed up but it was a big letdown. The sides were very good but it didn't makeup for that chicken. This will be our first and last trip.
The food was great and service was good. I had a good time with the family!
