Enjoy a little piece of Pan-Fried history when you dine at Stroud's! The year was 1933. Prohibition had just been repealed, we were between two World Wars and Stroud's Restaurant was built. Stroud's started as a BBQ restaurant by Guy and Helen Stroud on the county line at 85th and Troost. The road house remained a BBQ restaurant until World War II. Our waitress Mary, was just awesome. She seemed like an old friend. If I could bottle her personality and sell it, I’d be a wealthy man. This place has some of the best food and made me feel at home. I wish that my wife and I wouldn’t have tried it the last night we were in Kansas City. Not sure if I’ll make it back, but since this place has been around forever, I’m sure to go again, if in Missouri. Thanks so much for the hospitality, Mary. You’re an asset.

My family and I went for fathers day. I really enjoyed the food which made up all of the down fall in actually service provided. Would definitely eat there again. It is on the pricey side of things but you get the correct, if not more, amount and quality of food for the price. Total worth! Yum.
I was very disappointed. Not the same as it used to be. Our waitress was a mess. She brought us our salads twice,served us another tables food, never refilled our drinks and served us our cinnamon rolls twice. And the food, not even close to being as good as it used to be. We won’t be back.
I really, really didn’t want to write this review but wow......our experience was horrible. I will not get into bashing or details because o am hopefully this location will turn themselves around. I will say, our server, who has been there forever was the worst we have had in a long time anywhere. We were there for over 2 hours and tables around us were missing food, drinks etc also. We ended up serving ourselves because the waitress was MIA. Just horrible. Please get it together

I was hoping for more flavor. Portion sizes are crazy big! That’s a bonus. I enjoy it but for the price I will probably not come back.
