Handsome house , lovely grounds, and interesting tour into an interesting man. could do with learning more about his controversial actions and beliefs though.
A great experience with very knowledgeable staff who gave us an hour and change tour around the house. Nine generations of the Wellington family have lived here. Also a cafe, but it had closed by the time we had finished the tour.
Knowledgeable guides take small groups around the house at limited times of the year. You need to book a couple of weeks ahead. The reception area at the gate also serves coffee etc and sandwiches and cake at lunch time.
