My son was transferred from St. Francis, who missed diagnosed him and failed to do proper testing on him. We we're admitted to Stormont for 4 days on Pediatric floor and mostly had a great experience. We had a few really amazing nurses and all the doctors were great! They had nursing students from Washburn Tech and they were the most help. Keeping a child contained to one room for so long was extremely rough but the staff that helped bring my son toys and coming up with things for him to do was the biggest help! Drove myself in yesterday, experiencing shortness of breath, back pain, generally the same symptoms as the pe I had a few months ago. Once I got to check in, I was having trouble walking, and thinking. Could barely remember my own birthday. While tests were being done, lost the ability to move, at all. Couldn't even raise my head. They had earlier given me a shot of morphine for pain, which I wish I hadn't had. ER not so much. Slow, slow, slow until they want you out. Took 30 minutes just to get a freakin blanket and it was freezing cold! If you have surgery and are checked in they are per standard. With any medical situation they throw you to the wolves and charge you 50 million for a freakin kleenex.
