What a gem...I can't believe it took us so long to visit. We had Education Staffer, Anne, all to ourselves. She was so knowledgeable and very patient with our daughter. The butterfly pavilion was so amazing...the butterflies were so active - it was a great experience. All of the staff members were so helpful and happy...we will be back. Not to be missed!
Went here for the first time Friday and had a blast! Beautiful tropical butterflies flying around everywhere not to mention their two floor insect museum, good eats, and huge gift shop. A way to make learning fun for all ages. The renovations done here are to perfection. Will definitely be coming back soon! 😊
The staff was so nice and helpful--- and clearly know what they are talking about! My son had a great time, so glad we went!
Such fun! Extremely friendly and accommodating staff. The butterflies are beautiful and if you're wearing brightly colored clothing chances are a butterfly will land on your shirt. The Insectarium housed lots of cool insects that you'll want to see!
It is such a unique place to visit! It is an unassuming place from the outside, but is such a rich experience on the inside. All the staff are so accommodating and knowledgeable. We could hold and examine at least 6 different types of insects (and a quite adorable iguana!) under the supervision of individuals who clearly love creatures and sharing their knowledge with others, especially little ones like my 7 and 8 year old children. An incredibly beautiful experience! The butterfly pavilion along with the insectarium are an asset to Philadelphia and it's surrounding areas! Don't miss this! A museum like no other!
This is a real find! Even in the middle of renovations (a cafe!) and additions (the spacious Butterfly Pavilion), the knowledgeable staff greeted us and toured us through a museum full of interesting arthropods, from insects to spiders to shrimp, with a few reptiles thrown in for good measure. We even got a peek at the not yet opened butterfly exhibit. They were not just friendly but photographer-friendly. I will be coming back.
My wife took me there for my 40th bday, and it was fantastic. Everyone was so knowledgeable and helpful. I'm an entomology nerd, and I came away from the visit so happy!
