I drove along way (from Orange Beach, Alabama) to see the Illini play sorry ass basketball. They lost to Penn State. PENN STATE!!! and it wasn't even close for more than 1 or 2 minutes in the second half. The Illini play uneventful basketball. They use to play with teamwork through assists and now they stand around and hope someone can score for them. What is up with Coach Groce? My first visit since the renovation. Amazing! Love the blue seats, live the orange and blue up lighting!
The State Farm and the University of Illinois have done an excellent job with the State Farm Center renovation. The whole experience of a University of Illinois basketball game at the State Farm Center has been enhanced.
New seats but still no leg room if you're over 5'6" and the aisles are narrow. The outer concourse is nice with several food vendors and bathrooms.
The upgraded stadium is great. Now if they could just get a coach and team worthy of the facility.
The make over has made the seats extremely small. These are the smallest I've ever seen. I've been in several venues. Two guys sitting beside each other are going to have a problem if your very big at all. My Grandson is 5'4" and 160 lbs and he filled it up. Any one bigger than that will be wedged in. The attendant told us they had many complaints and let us move down to the inner bowl where the seats are more user friendly.
Great looking facility!!! All site lines are super for watching a game.
It was overpriced, but overall not a bad experience.
