Stanford was clean, staff treated like family, very friendly, doctors explain ur procedures and cared for there patients. Very good hospital.
I've been seen at several clinics within the Stanford Hospital system and the worst by far has been the pain management clinic. In my opinion it seems that they treat extreme chronic pain with conversation. They do their best to avoid prescribing any type of effective pain relievers and take their time pursuing other options. Although they may have the most respected surgeons, they are not interested in patient input or requests or experience. I had my right knee replaced 7 years ago, not at Stanford. Post operation, the surgeon told me to empower myself as a patient. If things didn't feel right speak up because it's my body. When my knee felt wobbly and PT was pushing me to walk, my surgeon told me that I should not allow myself into being bullied. If I fell, who was going to pay the price? Class act. The way you should always be treated when seeking medical care. Been to UCSF, John Muir, San Ramon, etc... they don't even come close to the level of care, professionalism and level of compassion that Stanford provides.
