Stanford’s billing practices are certainly not patient-centered. Beware of their choices to maximize charges. For each of my radiation treatments, I get hit with two charges: $84 “provider” charge (my co-pay is then $30) and a $11,000+ “facility” charge (my co-pay is $50). Per my insurer, this is Stanford’s billing choice to proceed this way, so my co-pays for 20 radiation treatments get to hit $1600.
