We stopped in the Grey Heron Lodge at Budle Bay with stunning views and an outstanding location between Christmas and New Year. The lodge was well equipped and spotlessly cleaned. It’s a short picturesque walk into Bamburgh. We used the Spa and swimming facilities in Lucker which was beautiful and relaxing. we also visited the Apple Inn in Lucker where we enjoyed a lovely family birthday meal. Six adults and a baby stayed in Ash Cottage to celebrate my big birthday,we absolutely loved our stay,the cottage was a really good size,it had 3 bedrooms all with an en-suite,the kitchen was well equipped and there was a lovely welcome pack for us including a bottle of wine which was a lovely touch,we stayed in October so it was lovely to have a log burner it was so cosy,the cottage also came with a hot tub and was checked everyday,my only negative would be the couches were very low so not the easiest to get out of but apar... read more
We have just spent 4 days at Pippin Cottage, one of the Stablewood Cottages in Lucker. The Cottage was fantastic apart from the awful smell from the Septic tank which is located right next to the cottage. Luckily we didn’t have to use the second bedroom which was the worst one affected but I would strongly suggest taking a scented candle with you to try to mask the smell! Our stay at the Chiff Chaf Cottage was absolutely fantastic! My partner, our dog, and I were all thoroughly impressed with every aspect of our stay. The location of the cottage is just perfect—secluded enough to provide complete peace and tranquility, yet conveniently only a short walk away from the local pub. The pub itself is charming and offers great food, with a lovely atmosphere surrounded by trees and nature, making it an ideal place to unwind after a day of exploration.
