Check on English Heritage website as its only open on certain days of the year. Beautiful old church with some fantastic displays and exhibits.
I only managed to view the church from the outside, and was very sorry to see its poor state. There are many broken and boarded up window, a certain amount of dirt and neglect, and a number of dubious restorations which have not been corrected. For such an important church, which is nationally known, it should be kept in the best state possible.
Despite being local everytime I've visited this church it has been closed! with no information why or when its open again
5 stars for such a beautiful and historic church, but 1 star, if that, for English Heritage. When visiting the church was “Closed for Renovations”!!! There was no work being carried out or people working on the site so why cannot they allow visitors who may have travelled many miles to see it when it’s our Heritage? A wasted journey, thank you English heritage.
Beautiful church. Cafe serving drinks and delicious home made cakes.
