I went in for a CT/PET scan. The check in was somewhat laborious but the actual procedure was well done. The people on both ends, administrative and medical were great.

I have had several good experiences at St Mary's but yesterday was not one of them. I went in for arthroscopic knee surgery. Arrived at 11:30 for a 12:00 appointment. Was call in for prep, put in a bed, IV started, interviewed by nurses, doctors the whole bit. 3 hours later they said they had to fix some paperwork. At 4:00 pm the doctor came in to inform me they couldn't get the documentation loaded in the computer and that he was leaving. Surgery would have to be rescheduled. �

I'm truly grateful to the Nurses and Techs in the Intensive Care Center. My Son was admitted on 1/18 with a Massive Blood Clot he's out here working but we're from New Orleans the staff treated him very nice and made sure I was informed and updated about his condition by phone until I was able to make it there. Once arriving everyone was very kind and made sure I was as comfortable as possible. The Doctors were very informative and put my Son and I at ease with explaining the procedures and coming around to follow up.

While the doc was great, the hospital pushed my son aside way too many times when he was here for a car accident.

We waited five hours for a blood test and only to transfer us to another medstar in Washington DC. Also medstar in D.C. Held us for 30 hours for monitoring but in reality the held us because the dermatologist on duty didn't come in until Sunday. Avoid medstar hospitals if you can. Both facilities were dirty, Doctors seemed to be inexperienced and unable to make a concise decision.
