St. Lukes hospital is the worst place you could ever work at. All they care about is how many trophies in their trophy case they can get. All they care is being in either the top 50 0r top. 100 hospitals in Iowa. As a patient you're only known as a number. As a employee the management doesn't care about you. Doesn't matter if you have a family, if you're married, if you are a single parent, or if you're pregnant. St. Lukes is definitely not a famuly orintated employer. They are the most disfunctional group of Dr's and nurses I've ever seen. For those of you that really care about your patient and take the time to listen to them thank you. The rest of you find a different job!! And to you Dr's if you don't know what your doing grow some balls and refer your patient to someone that does....
I met several wonderful people there that treated me no differently even though I work at another hospital. One cool person that stuck in my mind was Karen from surgical. I was delayed getting into surgery due to the case before me taking longer than expected (I was prepared for that possibility) and after apologizing beautifully and my accepting of her apology she said, "You know what though? Very grateful for the loving and experienced care we received at St. Luke's Nassif Heart Center. From the valet parking and cafeteria staff to the nursing and surgical staff we were lovingly cared for throughout my husband's hear procedure. Kudos to those who lovingly show mercy and care to others in a time of need.
St.Luke's in my opinion is one of the best hospitals in the area. The nurses were great, compassionate with my wife during her three operations. Jessi male nurse on 3C he was by far my favorite he showed my wife what nurses are meant to be. Even in her weakest state. He was great. We will be back. Allison last but not least thanks for being so gentle and kind with my wife and her scare off needles.
I am in st Luke's er with my 6 year old grandson and the nurses and Drs are awesome here . The dr in the er was headed off duty why we were upstairs at ultrasound . When we got back to our room the nurse comes in and hands mr a hand wrote note it was from the dr saying sorry he missed us and that he had to leave . Not many we Drs take that time out to do that .
