well this hospital is crap my dads been waiting over 3 hrs for doctor to come in and still waiting. get new staff or 2 doctors in the emergency area.
Only go here for outpatient procedures/testing and always take the original with you. The ER doctor blew me off and told me I was stressed after a single panel of blood tests despite the fact my leg was entirely stiff and I was in terrible pain. I ended up having a neurological problem that I had to wait weeks to get tests for. Go to Wellsville if you need an ER because St.James doesn't care. They'll just say "you're stressed, go home". Just save your time.
Beyond disgusted. I have taken my animals to the vets and they received more concern and care than my son got in the ER. While I realize they were swamped and there were some true emergencies, it wouldn’t have taken much for them to step in and check on him. And after waiting for over 4 hours and having the nurse come in only once in all that time and never seeing the doctor yet and then hear them laughing and chatting at the nurses station - I walked out. This hospital has gone so far down hill, starting with the asshole doctors. It's early morning on 1/4/18, and I don't know who the on call doctor was, but he was obviously half awake, in a shit mood, and decided to take it out on my wife. She went in with an earbud stuck way down her ear canal. He's shoving a needle in there and jabbed her with it, she flinched, and then yells at her for moving and says that SHE made it get stuck down further. I hate hate hate this hospital. This is my third time in two weeks being here for the same thing. They refuse to listen to me. And my leg keeps getting worse. I had to come back once again because I could handle the drive all the way to dansville.
Diagnosed pneumonia for my 4 year old and I asked her how her stay was at St. James Mercy Hospital, she said everyone was nice but that she didn’t want the police officers (or EMTs) to see her while she was in her underwear (they didn’t she just looked out door and saw them�) and that the ER room with the flower lights need new light bulbs because the clouds are looking yellow instead of white.
