I went to the er at st marys, the wait was so long. I was having chest and abdominal pain along with severe back pain. When I finally got a room they told me to change. I ended up having an anxiety attack and was hyperventilating pretty bad. I was right across from the nurses desk and no one came to check on me. Once they started to run tests; ct, chest X-ray, etc they said they found nothing and sent me home in severe pain with a small pain reliever that didn't work. I went to BJC with a crippling bladder infection, and after waiting in emergency for 3 hours, I was told it would be at least ANOTHER 3 hours before anyone could see me. My partner grabbed me and drove to St. Mary's. What a difference! I was in a treatment room in 5 minutes, and the doctors and staff were uniformly caring and professional.
I have never been treated so professionally and actually more like family at any other hospital. I really believe that because of the great care and compassion of all that work there it has made a very scary thing for me alot easier to handle and come back from. Thank you all so much.
Amazing hospital!! Couldn't ask for a better place!!
What is the purpose of having online registration if you just tell everyone to come in? I have been waiting in the waiting room for 45 minutes when I could have stayed home where I was relatively comfortable. But instead I was told to come in immediately so I could wait her instead of at home.
