My dad was in the behavior health unit for several weeks. When he went in, he had dementia, but it was "mild". When he left, he could no longer talk, eat, or function. He was on several antipsychotic medications, which made him deteriorate quickly. He was in a told of about 16 medicines, several being antipsychotic meds. My husband and I live in south st louis but we will never go to this hospital. We have driven to the er at St Anthony's in south county because the care and treatment is 100 times better.
St. Mary's and their staff restored my faith in the medical profession. Every nurse and doctor we had during our sons birth was beyond phenomenal. Tracy from labor and delivery was an absolute sweetheart. Becky from labor and delivery knew exactly what I needed and when in order to get this baby here safely. Their reassurances and compassion went so far beyond what was professionally required. I don't remember the name of the doctor who delivered me but he deserves an award. Everyone, I mean everyone from Dr's, nursing, pt,room service,house keeping,ER. JUST so pleasant, professional,just very kind and took time to answer any questions or concerns and the clergy staff came in and prayed for me the case workers making sure I have all I need to get stronger. Just sooooooo sweet and kind everyone..
Er is a mess and I do t know where to begin. 3 hour wait. IVs running dry. No one responding to a call light. I left my mom in their hands and came back to no call light, no side rails up on a dehydrated 80 year old. But since they do not respond to call light I guess it's only half bad? Plenty of folks hanging at the nurses station. Probably they have to document more than they can provide care.
I'm 20 and have recently been admitted over night because my heart rate reached up to 189 and they wanted to watch over me. Over all they checked everything from blood test to taking pictures of my heart to make sure that nothing was wrong.This is by far the best place to go for medical help and emergincies. Wait time isn't long and they take care of their patients very well.

I was diagnosed stage 4 cervical cancer in April 2015 Dr Xyenos took my hand and has held it ever since anyway I want to commend each department and the office staff I have never felt more loved and cared about.
