RecommendedI just want to give a huge shoutout to the emergency department staff at St. Clare Hospital. My baby brother (24 years old now but still my baby) presented to their emergency room this afternoon with chest pains. While talking to them at the front desk he passed out and his heart stopped. I came into the ER on Sunday the 17th with breathing difficulties. After a bunch of tests I was admitted and received care for two days. The ER doctors and nurses did an extremely amazing job. I have never been hospitalized where the staff is so committed and caring. From the cleaning staff to the doctors I feel that I received the best medical attention. I was on a short vacation and 5 hours from home. So I can count my lucky stars that St Clare Hospital was my savior. God’s blessing! Karen P.
Great place if there is not another hospital you can get too in time.
Just spent two days of my Winter Family getaway at St. Clare Hospital. Of all my hospital experiences, this is by far the place where I had the best service. Every staff person I had contact with from the doctors and nurses to Housekeeping were exceptional.
The Cardiac and Pulmonary Rehab program is world class. Great staff that stays current. Other programs visit here to see how to be a value and success for patients.

Actually I am soo far very impressed w/St.Clair..I have dealt w/general surgery,cardiac testing and medical imaging..The folks who work there are HUMAN,,and in my book that's a great thing.I have seen the inside of a few hospitals,,soo-far,,the bigger the city,,the more arrogant the staff,,,So far for the most part,I found the decent Dr...ie Drs.Hook,,and the staff at this hospital to be non condescending thus treat u,as they themselves would like to be treated,and honest,,
was treated very badly by the doctor i saw when i went there tonight and was almost refused a note for my job! there was also a nurse who was very rough! wont be returning to this er!
Recently went to the eye clinic for an exam because of the location it’s very convenient as I live in Baraboo. I was shocked to receive a bill for $319 for the exam !!! Again this was an exam ONLY ! My wife goes to an extremely reputable eye care place in Madison and this exact same service is $129 !!!! Think I just discovered what’s wrong with health care in this country! I was literally there for 45 min ! I don’t really need to tell you I won’t be going back to st Mary’s for eye care ! Total rip off !
