Great to give to clients or bring to the office – Sprinkles cupcakes are perfect treats to give to clients or bring to the office. Clients are always happy to get them. Each cupcake is fun and has a delicious flavor. It is much better than donuts. Once in a while, I also recommend getting a dozen babyblonde waffles.
I've found Cupcake Heaven at Mrs. Beasley's – My husband and I had heard about Sprinkles and figured it was worth checking out when we visited LA last week and saw the line outside. Turns out everyone else in line was a tourist too and heard the hype. The cupcakes were ok but nothing to wait in line for. A lady in line told me about Mrs. Beasley's also in Beverly Hills. OMG!! They have these gourmet cupcakes and say "it's all about the frosting." I say it's all about loving cupcakes!! They had many more flavors, three inches... read more
do not waste your time – I waited in line for 20 minutes to receive unfriendly service once inside. Served a cold, acidic cup of coffee after discovering that they were out of milk. Three of my four cupcakes were overcooked and extremely dry. Very disappointed after all of the hype, this place is a mess.
Good Reputation does not equal good cupcakes – We had a really great cupcake shop where we used to live. I had heard rave reviews of Sprinkles so I was excited. The price was high but close to what I'd expected. This isn't a low rent district after all and these are a specialty item. What disappointed me was the taste. We bought a big box with assorted flavors for a dinner party. Not one adult there liked them and none of the children even finish a half of one. My daughter said she likes the "grocery store kind better." Good... read more
What is all the hype for? – I keep hearing about Sprinkles Cupcakes and I can't seem to figure out why. Besides being EXTREMELY expensive, the cupcake's frosting was not creamy and the cupcake itself was not moist. There are MANY other cupcake places serve better cupcakes in L.A. Don't waste your time or your $$$
Better cupcakes at Wal-Mart 6 for $2!!! – I ordered two cupcakes and spent my $6.50 to see what the fuss was (even though I had read on the California citysearch that the cupcakes were mediocre at best and over-rated! Well, my expectations were fulfilled. When I first enetered the bakery I thought the cupcakes looked bigger than I thought. Little did I know they are 50% frosting. The cakes is also extremely dry and tasted like sandpaper. Save your money.
Puh-lease! – Like so many others, I had heard all of the rave reviews about Sprinkles and had to check it out. After waiting in line for 20 minutes and making sure I stayed outside of the door until the workers behind the counter found me worthy enough to enter; I must say the sweet smell of the store gave me hope. But, I found myself quickly disappointed. The cake, which for me is the best part, was dry, dry, dry, dry. It seemed all of the attention was put upon the thick frosting, which I had to scrape off in order to even... read more
Below expectations – I walked in on a Saturday after hearing rave reviews about this place. I wasn't even shocked by the sticker price of 6 cakes - $20, so approximately $3.50 for a cupcake. Hey, they have to pay the rent right? The cakes were too sweet, the cake was slightly dry and the frosting rather tasteless. Given the price, it wasn't really all that great. I think its a hip shop, and the cakes are aesthetically pleasing, but a better cupcake is to be found at Buttercup on Pico. Too bad, I was really looking forward to... read more
disappointed – I work nearby and used to visit Sprinkles at least once a week. The quality of food and service has really slipped and now I buy baked goods elsewhere. My most recent (and final) visit: I waited in line for 20 minutes to receive unfriendly service once inside. Served a cold, acidic cup of coffee after discovering that they were out of milk. Three of my four cupcakes were overcooked and extremely dry. Either the owners have sold the business or national growth plans are taking their toll.
