extraordinary food, the details are amazing – this place has changed so much for the better that I really dont know where to begin..they have a new chef, a great new menu, the lunch is incredible, the prices are great..but the dinner is amazing, the fish we had there recently was the best i have ever had, after traveling the world and eating in hundreds of resturants, the thing i like most are the salads, the best in the triangle..you can see all the work that goes into making a perfect salad..the chef came to our table and ... read more

This restaurant and bar offers sophisticated American fare served in a stylish outdoor patio space. – In Short Take a moment to gawk at the vast, gorgeous space; to the right, a striking dining room with a bar and lounge spills out onto a patio. To the left is a spice, tea and olive market outfitted with slinky teak tables and chairs. The dining room is dominated by overhead lighting that looks like enormous alabaster trumpet bells. Spice Street has a diverse menu that includes soups, flatbread pizzas and seafood.

I can't BELIEVE the most recent REVIEWS, so I'm doing one myself!!! The ABSOLUTE most ENJOYABLE meal and dining out EXPERIENCE since coming to the Triangle Area!!! – I came here with 9 other people with my dining out group, The Triangle Singles Dining Out Meetup Group... Here is the review(s) we gave about our dining out adventure at this restaurant on our site! I absolutely loved this place. The waiter's and staff turned themselves inside out for a very difficult member in the group, and never flinched...My hat truly goes o... read more

Stay Away – My friend was brought the wrong entree, he sent it back and was brought the correct entree. It was pork and was rare, too rare to consider eating. He asked nicely to have it cooked a little longer, the waiter was nice and took it back to the kitchen. The manager brought back the plate, sat it on the table, and walked away, with not a word of apology or explanation. He then stayed in our area for the rest of dinner, walking by our table 8-10 times. When we were brought our check and were paying it, he hovered arou... read more

all hype and not enough spice – My wife and I went to Spice Street with great expectations, having been a fan of Mr Bakatsias for many years. Seatring was prompt and waiter was attentive -- to start with, but finished up virtually ignoring us. Waiting 15-20 minures for our check was ridiculous -- and was reflected in my gratuity! The ceasar salad was good but the main course scallops on tabouli was blah and boring. Plus the scallops were definitely old. Good wine at a fair price. Would I go back -- NO.

The Dining Experience – I had an amazing meal at this restaurant and plan to return often! The service was a bit slow and the sushi was not wrapped tightly enough, but everything else about this restaurant was worth every penny! I thought the jazz band on the patio was a particularly nice touch. I truly felt as though I had a dining experience rather than just a full belly at the end of my night at Spice Street.

Best Restaurant in Chapel Hill – I live in Silicon Valley, but whenever I visit my parents in Chapel Hill, I always insist on eating at Spice Street at least once. And if not to eat, to go there for drinks! The ambiance is great, decor is awesome and the drinks are yummy. It makes you feel like you are in a big city and not in NC.

Worst Service for $550 – After experiencing terrible service with a large party last year I was hesitant to give Spice Street another try, but did so since it's so large and an interesting space. When I called to make my reservation they were incredibly rude. But the worst part was the evening itself - starting with the waiter asking "Do you know the rules?". Everyone at the table was appalled by the service. I'll definitely take my money elsewhere next time. It's just not worth it.
