Won't Be Going Back to Spice Street – I've been to Spice Street several times, and after last night's experience, have decided I won't be returning. I've always considered their food good, not great. Horrible – Our company had our holiday party here. Tables were too small to sit 6 people at. The dinner was served family style, which of course cut down even more on table space. Our beef was raw red and cold, one table never received vegatables. They only found out there were vegatable from other employees talking at the office the Monday after. The place tries really hard to deliver fine dining but falls short. – It's kind of sad, expensive, but sad nonetheless. The decor of the restaurant is impressive, but frankly my chair was uncomfortable and the table was quite small, even for two people. Yum! The food here is very good, eclectic. We go here in a group when we can't decide what kind of place we want to go for lunch. There's something for everyone. Even though they have a big selection, I somehow always end up getting the seared tuna because it's one of the few places that really does it right. Someday I'll have to go there at night and sample some of the drinks, too!

Favorite Chapel Hill Restaurant Spice Street is a special place. The restaurant is beautiful with soft lighting. The food is eclectic (pizza, Greek sampler plates, Italian). It is delicious. It's a great place for birthday dinners. It's a trendy, sophisticated crowd. Highly recommend!
Cheapy Portions – Good food but only if you have an eating disorder.....lame lame lame lame lame lame portions!!! I've travelled all over the US and this is one of the worst rip-offs yet. Shame on the owners. You'll leave hungry and disappointed. We weren't going to say anything until a table of 12 next to us had a five minute conversation about how small their portions were too. Close but not there – Spice Street definitely has the potential for great atmosphere but it fails to truly impress. Each time I've been there the bartenders have outrageously overcharged. $14 for a mixed drink and a beer, when it should have been $9, and $8 for a $6 LIT that didn't come close to actually resembling a Long Island Iced Tea. When you pay such a high cover to get it, it is definitely not worth going to a strip mall establishment like Spice Street to get sub par service.
