Nice for big events too We first went to Spice Street as part of a big event- a few hundred people. It seemed like a small restaurant but was actually quite big. It never felt crowded and we all had a lot of fun. We also went for dinner after that night and really enjoyed the food. We love all of George's restaurants.
Favorite Chapel Hill Restaurant Spice Street is a special place. The restaurant is beautiful with soft lighting. The food is eclectic (pizza, Greek sampler plates, Italian). It is delicious. It's a great place for birthday dinners. It's a trendy, sophisticated crowd. Highly recommend!
Great for date night This is a great date night restaurant. My husband and I have been here several times and have not been disappointed. The food, service and atmosphere are spectacular.
A taste of something different! Spice Street is a great place to go if you're looking for something different. The atmosphere is great and the service is spectacular. The prices were quite fair as well. The menu has a variety of options, so even the pickiest eater could find something they'll like.
Just For Dates This is a great date resturant. The lighting is low the food is fancy and if you are trying to impress that special someone then this is the place for you. They also turn into a night club very often through out the year. And the parties are usually for the older crowd.
Yum! The food here is very good, eclectic. We go here in a group when we can't decide what kind of place we want to go for lunch. There's something for everyone. Even though they have a big selection, I somehow always end up getting the seared tuna because it's one of the few places that really does it right. Someday I'll have to go there at night and sample some of the drinks, too!
Will not get my business AGAIN – Food is good, and it's a nice place BUT If you're having a late dinner on a Friday, make sure you ask what time you have to leave or if you have to pay in order to stay after 10pm. After having dinner, my friends thought we would stay a little longer and get a drink. We had just purchased our drinks and sat down to chat when a very rude guy came over and said that if we wanted to stay we had to pay $10 or chug the drinks down in 5 minutes and leave. Terrible! – My husband and I took his sister who lives out of town to Spice Street on a Saturday night as we remembered it as a place with a happening crowd, great ambience and a fun menu. not going back – We went as a family to celebrate my mother's 85th birthday last night. We were seated and then were given five menus for nine guests. Then we had to ask for the wine menu. The person that sat us seemed dazed and confused and never returned with more menus. Strike one. Our waiter finally greeted us and got our drink orders, which were delivered.
