Ever since it was first established in 1900 by Charles Kreuz, this market has built up a reputation of being the best meat dealer in the city. No wonder residents of Lockhart and its outskirts swear by the quality of Kreuz's products. Apart from selling raw meat, the market also has a wide variety of barbecued beef and other pre-cooked products like pork and sausages. Kreuz also offers online marketing on its website.

Little over price brisket is no that great is a little bit tough to bite is no buttering same the ribs am thinking that's why give you a knife when you order the meat at the pits
I loved it. Great food. Money well spent.
This is the best barbeque ever! It was moist and delicious. The service was friendly and quick. You order the meat at the pit, and they wrap it in paper with bread and crackers. You pay for it there. Then you go into the dining area to purchase your sides and beverage. They are cash only but have an ATM if you weren't forewarned. The potato salad was excellent. The beans are ranch style rather than baked, but they had a good flavor too. I didn't try the coleslaw. I look forward to going back!
Best old school BBQ place I have ever been to... The meats are always cooked perfect and the feeling of just sitting there in the old school hall makes it a great experience
Brisket had no taste...and the sausage..will never eat it again...but was relieved the ribs were good...side dishes...sigh...not ever going back...
Best BBQ in Texas! My girl and I stopped there yesterday and where blown away.
Well we had a great time and enjoyed all the good barbecue there at Smitty's market was a really big crowd at the time we were there but we enjoyed every bit of it and great to see the business continues with good barbecue ...
Smitty's is one of the less than a handful of places that set the standard for authentic Texas barbecue, and home of the best sausage of any of them. We missed the prime rib this trip, but it is always worth asking for, hoping to get lucky before they sell out for the day. And you're luckiest if you get there early enough that they apologoze for it being rare in the middle!
Smitty's Market has a 4.4 star rating with 4,241 reviews.
Smitty's Market is closed now. It will open on Monday at 9:00 a.m.
