Perfectly cooked Brisket, good smoke ring, tender and juicy, and was not chewy in the least bit. Flavour was adequate. BUT THE RIBS, OMG, they were beyond Fabulous. Some of the BEST I have ever eaten.

We have driven out to Lockhart for 3 different spring breaks from Alabama. This is better than The Salt Lick or any other place around. The brisket is to die for and their sausage rings are my husband's favorite. We found out about Smittys through my husband's coworker, Soli Lilly who is from Lockhart.
Overall it was a good experience, food was delicious and had great customer service only one small complaint if you can call it that, they don't give you forks, but all in all it was delicious.
I've been eating there for some years. But I visit less and less. Staff can be very rude, and don't go late because the brisket is extremely tough. And the owner is very rude. But I do enjoy � sausage.
