I'm 32 & remember coming here as a little girl with my grandfather (back when it was Kreuz). I still go here to this day, as very little about this great place has changed! Food & atmosphere is the same as it was 20 years ago, & in an ever-changing world, I appreciate that! Delicious food & friendly staff. BEST barbecue in Lockhart!! Bring CASH!
LOVED their food!! Had to look around to see their menu on the wall. Ordered WAY to much because I don't know how to order portion versus weight. You order the beef on one side and the sides through the other side of the building. Only thing that I was not prepared for was that they only take cash for payment. They have an ATM machine but I went to HEB to get cash instead. I will definitely return.
I can't think of a single bad thing to say! Wait no... The beans were bland. Lol. Smitty's and it's staff alone make me want to move to Lockhart (from Kitchener ON Canada). So much love and respect for this business, it's history, loyalty and staff.
Always good. worth the trip from Denton. will be back
