Terrible company. I got a device installed which i was required to get before applying for an IILL in Pennsylvania. I fill out all the forms and one form specific requires a Smart Start Rep. to fill out the "Statement of Vendor" portion. When i went to get it installed the mechanic said that he was not able to sign it as he is not a rep of Smart Start, which is understandable. Do not use this company. They have no problem getting the device in and no problem taking your money - but getting it out is near impossible. Then there is no way to get a live person on the phone unless you go through an hour with of prompts and recordings to then be hung up on. If you finally get an agent on the phone they are worthless and can’t do anything. They just keep saying “everything is processing”. After I was found not guilty and paper work was submitted it took 8 weeks for them to get the “paperwork processed” ... read more

Hello, the courts require that Smart Start only remove an ignition interlock device once we receive written authorization from the courts, which in this case we have not. Smart Start sent all of the reports to the customers Attorney on April 20, 2021. As soon as we receive the court order will remove the interlock system as quickly as possible.
Me and my fiancé work night shift (14 hr) shifts! We have been doing business through the smart start in Knoxville (Center Park Dr) for 8 months and have never had a terrible experience like this one! The man was extremely rude the entire time because I missed an appointment but knowing that I wouldn’t mind to wait for recalibration service! Absolute horrible customer service. I am a Combat Veteran in the Veteran Treatment Court Program and they nearly impossible to get a hold of. This company is absolute garbage and I would recommend that any court officials use a different system or if you have a choice, go with someone else.

nothing but problems Wonderful staff working for them but inadequate business. I believe they are going out of business and rightfully so, as they are pathetic in every way as far as doing their jobs and providing the service they say they do. If your state allows another device company, save your self some trouble and go to with them. They are quick to install and charge extra money for the so called "violations" but when you have satisfied your court order and want it removed, it's a hustle like no other. Their customer service is not the best either.

Hello, Mr. M****** had an ignition interlock installed in his vehicle pursuant to a court order. The State of ****** requires that the ignition interlock enter lockout mode if it registers positive alcohol tests or skipped tests. In this situation the device logged multiple skipped tests in violation of the program rules and regulations.
